My Winter project
« on: February 28, 2018, 07:32:12 PM »
So over the winter I have been working away in my little basement work shop on a few projects, but my primary mental focus has been about producing this "potential" product. Its entirely made from wood and and brass with a few hidden 316 stainless steel parts just so things don't oxidize and get stuck. For those still on the unmentionable website, I am not yet releasing what I am making. But on here, you are all loved. K now fuck off! Bah JK.

So, to the point. The bush is very flat. I am making a fancy shaving stand. Just something that can hold your razor aside from that ugly plastic thing that is impossible to clean. Now when I say razor, I mean those Gillette bastards. The plan is to make a nice one for a proper safety razor, but you need to start somewhere.

The first picture is of me trying to braze the two pieces together.
The second picture is of the final prototype after cleaning the solder and filing the brass pin down. Also after manually bending the hook.
Currently I am drafted a bending/soldering fixture and plan to make it at work the next time i get a few spare hours on a weekend.

The first picture is all my R&D and some failure.
The last picture is of the final product polished.
