Random comments with respect to the v1.6 'Killer Queen' update...

  • When the player's ship is destroyed, the full explosion animation should also be played. [When the last enemy ship is destroyed, the full explosion plays, then the 'You won' dialog appears. When the player's ship is destroyed currently, the 'You lost' dialog appears almost immediately, robbing the player of the sense of loss. If the ship is not covered by the dialog it's still shown on the grid -- when instead it should be destroyed.]
  • There's still a noticeable 'lag' or hitch if the scan is used. The sounds of the turn play immediately but the animation doesn't kick in until a second later.
  • The weapon/set course selection highlighting is not consistent. At the start or right after a turn has taken place, when you press a weapon you just get that super faint grey selection box. When you target the weapon turns yellow. But if you then select another weapon, the selected weapon turns yellow /white text. [and then it goes to yellow/black text when the target is set. I know what's happening from the audio cues but the visual selections are confusing.

Then if you choose set course and pick a target destination square... nothing visual happens to that button (the audio cue plays).
  • If an enemy ship is firing a particle beam and is destroyed, the particle beam continues to fire.
  • a kind of meaningless visual suggestion (which you can ignore since I don't think it would benefit anything): there should be a little sparkle where a) two particle beams intersect b) when a torpedo hits a particle beam c) when two torpedoes collide.

I know you do know the locations of b) and c) because you're destroying the torpedoes on collisions. It's kind of vaguely disappointing when the torpedoes just 'vanish'. if there was a small explosion it tells the user something happened.
  • Two player mode doesn't seem to work at the moment? (I'm assuming this is a work in progress)
  • The playing of the 'torpedo hit' sound can be inconsistent when playing against multiple enemy ships. Sometimes it plays but not always. It's a little awkward to reproduce but if two torpedoes hit the ship at almost the same time the sound does not play.  This also sometimes occurs if a particle beam hits the ship and a torpedo hits it after.
  • The 'damage remaining' % at the top of the screen can be inconsistent with the Status Shield/Hull Percentages in the control area at the bottom. This can often be reproduced in multi-opponent mode: Start the game. Just hit engage (don't fire, don't move). Assuming your ship survives, hit engage again. If there is a torpedo + particle beam shot (and your ship survives), the resultant damage message often is inconsistent with the status %.

The first picture is all my R&D and some failure.
The last picture is of the final product polished.

The first picture is of me trying to braze the two pieces together.
The second picture is of the final prototype after cleaning the solder and filing the brass pin down. Also after manually bending the hook.
Currently I am drafted a bending/soldering fixture and plan to make it at work the next time i get a few spare hours on a weekend.

Science Technology Engineering Maths / My Winter project
« Last post by killer52lt on February 28, 2018, 07:32:12 PM »
So over the winter I have been working away in my little basement work shop on a few projects, but my primary mental focus has been about producing this "potential" product. Its entirely made from wood and and brass with a few hidden 316 stainless steel parts just so things don't oxidize and get stuck. For those still on the unmentionable website, I am not yet releasing what I am making. But on here, you are all loved. K now fuck off! Bah JK.

So, to the point. The bush is very flat. I am making a fancy shaving stand. Just something that can hold your razor aside from that ugly plastic thing that is impossible to clean. Now when I say razor, I mean those Gillette bastards. The plan is to make a nice one for a proper safety razor, but you need to start somewhere.

Thats a pretty cool dino. I would rock a dino like that as some kind of interdimensional space pirate. It could live on my shoulder and stuff.
